Tarlant NV Champagne Zero Brut Nature: A Symphony of Terroir and Craftsmanship
Producer & Origin: Crafted by the esteemed Tarlant family in the heart of Champagne, France, this Non-Vintage (NV) Champagne is a testament to time-honored winemaking traditions.
Blend & Composition: A harmonious blend of 32% Pinot Noir, 32% Chardonnay, and 32% Pinot Meunier, complemented by subtle touches of Petit Meslier, Arbanne, and Pinot Blanc (4% each), this Champagne embodies complexity and balance. The 2015 base vintage is enriched with reserve wines from the preceding three years, ensuring depth and character.
Tasting Notes: With a pale yellow hue, this Champagne Zero Brut Nature captivates with its fresh, lifted aromas of citrus blossom, lemongrass, and fresh pear, accented by a hint of saline. On the palate, it’s medium-bodied with a fluffy mousse, offering bright citrus flavors and a savory, pithy finish. Its vibrant acidity ensures a lively and zesty drinking experience.
Winemaker’s Vision: Benoît Tarlant’s daily obsession, this cuvée represents 70-90% of Tarlant’s production. Zero Brut Nature reflects the winery’s commitment to unadorned terroir, with no added yeasts or dosage. Organically farmed and hand-harvested fruit from across 63 parcels in four villages is vinified separately for maximum blending flexibility.
Aging & Maturation: Fermented in Burgundy barrels ranging from new to 30 years old with natural yeasts, this Champagne typically avoids malolactic fermentation. Blended with barrel-aged reserve wines and moved by gravity only, it promises a solid drinking window of 8-10 years.
Alcohol Content: 12% ABV
