“From the 450m plateau of Cuzcurrita del Río Tirón in the northern Rioja, this equal blend of Maturana Blanca and Tempranillo Blanco has been matured in amphorae, oak and concrete. Maturana, first recorded in 1622, is a part of Rioja’s heritage and adds hints of sage and tilleul as well as tropical fruit (guava comes to mind). The Tempranillo Blanco adds phenolic support and an attractive oiliness, which sits well with the notes of crisp grapefruit. Quiet complexity, in other words; made but not over-made and full of indigenous charisma.”

“A fresh and zingy white made from tempranillo blanco and maturana blanca. Zesty, crisp and energetic on the medium-bodied palate, with bright acidity and a nervy, medium-length finish. Nothing substantial, but this is quite well balanced and gastronomic. Drink now.”
