“Reduction hides the aromatic composition but there is good freshness and punch to the strongly mineral-driven middle weight flavors that possess fine delineation as well as very fine shaping tannins, all wrapped in a balanced, restrained and mildly austere finish. There is a wonderfully sophisticated mouth feel and this is textbook Pézerolles though I underscore that patience will be required. Sweet Spot, Outstanding”

“The 2011 Pommard Les Pezerolles 1er Cru has a detailed and harmonious bouquet with what feels like a very well integrated stem addition that lends complexity. Floral scents of violet and peony emerge with time and enhance the aromatics. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, a crisp line of acidity, quite minerally/stony towards the finish with impressive length if not the depth that one would expect in a more benevolent growing season. Fine.”
